I Turn to You

As words become more harsh and bleak

And people speak in fits of pique

Restraint becomes my point of view

I turn to You, I turn to You.

My anger and concerns disperse

As heart to heart in You submerse

Transform my soul, my mind’s renewed

I turn to You, I turn to You.

So listen now with passion I

Can feel the hurt and fear inside

Instead of surface words which cue

I turn to You, I turn to You.

You save me from my selfishness

And lead me from my callousness

Bring forth my grace and mercy hues

I turn to You, I turn to You.

Pretend I cannot any more

I do not love You to my core

And put You first in all I do;

I turn to You, I turn to You.

  3. Great post. Made me think if we turn to our Heavenly Father before we speak after hearing hurtful or angry words from others, the words we speak back to the person would be calming instead of retaliatory. Thank you.
