In the Waiting

ShadowTrees2

In waiting, do you grieve and wail

Or curse the parching desert floor?

Hope’s turned to hiding, doubt’s your friend?

Praise God, the One whose love transforms.

Your secret fear’s your prayers have failed,

A wilderness not known before;

You long for clarity to wend.

Praise God, the One whose love transforms.

Enduring crashing waves and gale,

Adrift at sea, wanting to moor,

Enslaved to swaying seat, upend.

Praise God, the One whose love transforms.

The wind and rain obey his hail!

Moonlight or sun, His mercy pours;

His grace is not some passing trend.

Praise God, the One whose love transforms.

Be wary of the shadow’s trail.

Thought wasteland feels forevermore

Don’t miss the beauty worry rends.

Praise God, the One whose love transforms.

Each dawn and dusk for you unveil

Grandeur of God, humbly inform

Your thoughts and heart what to transcend;

Praise God, the One whose love transforms.

Thank you Jane Doughtery for the inspiration and challenge for this kyrielle poem.

    1. It does, Mel. I only pray everyone would experience his love, either through choice or through a Saul experience.

      1. I finished up two weeks ago today and now have actively begun my schooling to become a licensed pastor. Talk about no rest for the weary! But it’s all good because He is so good!

      2. How wonderful – you get to become a new creation once again as He transforms your heart and mind in this new season.
        May He be a lamp to your feet all along the road.

    1. So glad the timing was perfect for you, Lorrie. Someone told me once, as we live out our years and we groan in the stormy Decembers, we must remember there are always warm Junes to follow. 🙂

  5. I could just see heavens multitudes praising God. If you know him you have to shout out praises. This was one that stirs you to hope and faith and glory.

    1. Waiting is sometimes the most difficult thing we do. Wanted to encourage those who are in that journey. I’ve been there, and missed the beauty.
      Now, I consider waiting to BE the journey, and seek the beauty and the lessons in it.

      1. You are right, I believe patience is truly a good thing. It will always reveal that God is still there and is working on our behalf. Thanks again Susan for this encouragement.

        Much love Tom
