Not Home Yet

In the stillness of Sunday’s morning air

I’m reminded that I am not home yet.

To You Lord I lift this Sabbath day prayer

While times I discount I’m whole in Your care

You completely and gladly paid my debt;

In the stillness of Sunday’s morning air

The depths of Your love I’m most unaware

And sadly sometimes I tend to forget.

To You Lord I lift this Sabbath day prayer

Dear God, in my mother’s womb You prepared

My heart; You knew me right at the outset

In the stillness of Sunday’s morning air

I live in Your heart, You live in mine there

Abiding and beating as one duet;

To You Lord I lift this Sabbath day prayer

You chose me, made me Your child and an heir

And now though I see you just in silhouette

In the stillness of Sunday’s morning air

To You Lord I lift this Sabbath day prayer

Thank you Emily Rose Lewis for the inspiration for this post.
