Today’s Good Samaritans

Kenyan Muslims shield Christians in Mandera bus attack.”

I saw this article this morning in the BBC press.

I longed to see it in the American press.

And it made me wonder…

if I was on a bus together with a group of Christians

and a group of LGBTQ folks

and the bus was stopped by people with assault rifles

and they demanded,

“All homosexuals identify yourselves!”

would we be as loving to our neighbors

as those Muslims were

to their Christian neighbors?

“’Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31)

  3. Well said Susan. Love conquers all, it will even leave doors open. Such a simple command from Jesus. I am on the road today traveling to minister to one of my son’s that’s going through a rough time. Please pray for us as we visit.

    Blessings to you

  5. Well…If you and I can count as a teeny tiny corner of the American press (big IF, I know!), then I’m grateful this news story has seen the light of day in at least our small worlds! The other comment is obvious: Great minds….! 🙂
