No Longer Orphans

cat-and-dog-cuddling

Though morning weather chills the air

I sit embraced in my snug chair

and bow my head in whispered prayer.

He comforts me, my Papa dear.

As sun attempts to greet the day

And misty dew meets clouds of gray

I’m warmed within from Father’s rays.

The Spirit calms my every fear.

When Jesus’ words come into mind

I’m warmed by how my God designed

His grace and mercy intertwined

With love; affirmed us. It’s so clear.

Adoption is our final gift

And as our transformed hearts do shift

Our thinking and our minds do lift

From fear to love, His eyes appear.

No longer act as needy strays,

We willingly will lift our gaze;

Our words and deeds will also raise.

In Him we will abide sincere.

Awesome, Susan. Amen and amen! I also liked your line, “No longer act as needy strays.” Reminds me of a stray cat we adopted last year. It’s interesting to see him slowly change his behavior as he understands that he belongs to a family now, that he doesn’t have to fight for what he gets. We’re starting to get this, too, from our heavenly Papa!
    Blessings.

    1. Yes, one heart at a time. An experience that cannot be matched or compared to any other. I pray more and more come to know the Father’s heart every hour of every day.
