Love Lifts like Wings

We hop upon a hamster wheel

Our busy life pretends it’s real

We give our minds to pointless things

When love could lift our hearts like wings

Clear minds the enemy conceals

Our joy and focus seeks to steal

Confusion reigns as he pulls strings

When love could lift our hearts like wings

Instead, we worry, whine and squeal

Unsure, review our prior reel

Yet to our present course we cling

When love could lift our hearts like wings

Cry out! The name of Jesus heals

His love for you he will reveal

His song of grace to you he’ll sing

And love will lift your heart like wings

To those in doubt, I make appeal

To those left out, you have His seal

Our Prince of Peace, our King of kings

Enfolds and loves your heart like wings
