Rescue

livingwater2

My mind lives in an oubliette

Despairing doubt, exposed to threat.

My joy this gloom does full displace.

I thirst to feel anew Your grace.

Like dreams slung from a trebuchet

The past returns, I can’t forget,

Evade but simply can’t outrace.

I thirst to feel anew Your grace.

Without You I am parched, beset.

I view You more in silhouette.

Transforming Spirit, please make haste,

I thirst to feel anew Your grace.

The devil fills me with regret,

My shame a stumbling block – and yet,

You’re cracking wide my carapace.

I thirst to feel anew Your grace.

Returning to Good News Quartet

Your voice, my heart: sublime duet.

This living water soothes my taste.

I drink to feel anew Your grace.

My ignorance of the vocabulary knowledge knows no bounds here!
I shall revel in my moniker in the presence of your skill my lady. 😀
This is so sophisticatedly beautifully done. NOT often I read a poem and I do not know the words..and here THREE new words! HURRAY! 😀
AND HURRAY for the lovely meaningful tone in them too.

    1. You’re welcome, Lorrie. Even though those thoughts come sometimes, I realize I don’t have to live there. Those are chains that keep me from the true joy of freedom; unconditional love and grace, and the ability to grasp who I am as God’s creation and His beloved daughter.

    1. Thanks, Tom. So many of us have been rescued from darkness we didn’t even realize we were in, eh? Once The LIght and Living Water comes, there’s just no going back.

      Blessings to you and Carolyn.
