Amazing Grace

Flood

Each wordsmith writes of sent and sound

describing comfort they have found.

For me it fills my whole heart space.

My heart floods with amazing grace.

Once gone astray, en route to drown

God yanked me up and held me bound

in love, his cross his soft embrace.

My heart floods with amazing grace.

His mercy flows each day propound.

Compassion, comfort, grace surround

and leave no fear; despair erase.

My heart floods with amazing grace.

This gift of grace is most profound.

Words all fall short, fail to expound.

This measure cannot be replaced.

My heart floods with amazing grace.

At end of life, soul’s song resounds.

When death draws near, I’m homeward bound.

In peace I yearn to see his face;

my heart floods with amazing grace.

  4. Hiya Susan, I read this over replacing God with any other name. And it doesn’t work as an earthbound love story. It transcends that. Love by another name. Not sure what!! 🙂

    1. No, it doesn’t work, does it, Paul. God’s love is powerful and transcendent, which is why it is unexplainable. Grace and love rolled into one. 🙂

      1. I posted a video of our son on my blog. I don’t know if you remember that we almost lost him in July when he was involved in a serious accident. God allowed him to share at a youth conference and what He has taught him through this rough time. Your prayer to experience His grace has already been answered 🙂 Amazing God … Thanks for always pointing us to our Hope!
